All year blanket yak hair fluff

Pure, natural yak hair fluff, one of the softest and finest natural hairs, is used for the filling of this warm yet lightweight all-season blanket. The fluff owes its exceptional ability to warm to its strong crimp, through which it can store a lot of heat-insulating air. At the same time, the temperature- and moisture-regulating properties of yak hair fluff ensure a very pleasant, dry sleeping climate. In addition, yak hair and therefore this comforter is very light. The comforter is therefore particularly suitable for people who have a higher need for warmth and prefer very warming, yet light blankets.
The cover is made up of a high-fiber density batiste, a very tightly woven, fine fabric for which organic cotton is used. The comfort quilting keeps the yak hair filling evenly distributed, allowing the blanket to snuggle softly against the body. The all-season blanket can not be washed and should therefore be aired regularly to give it back freshness and puffy volume.

Yaks are the only species of cattle that have a multi-layered and particularly dense hair coat, it is light and soft, yet very resistant. The long outer coat, the coarser woolly hair and finally the very fine, strongly curled undercoat protect the cattle native to the high plateaus of Central Asia from the harsh climate with bone-chilling cold and icy winds. During the natural change to the somewhat lighter summer coat, the yaks lose their dense winter coat. It is usually combed out by the herders, but occasionally the animals are shorn. Per yak, about only 300 to 500 g of the fine, fluffy undercoat can be obtained annually - and only this can be processed into yarn or fleece.
