Wooden blocks
General Information
Natural beech wood. Natural joy of playing
For over half a century, young and old alike have been enthusiastically indulging in playing with the studded building blocks. It goes without saying that those whose name must not be mentioned have popularized an almost ingenious building block principle. Assembling the angular building blocks into every conceivable shape, even spheres, is at least as fascinating as squaring the circle. However, the fact that the building blocks from you-know-who are made of plastic has long been a stumbling block in the plastic-free children's room.
With these building blocks made of beech wood, the joy of playing can unfold naturally. The Sauerland-based manufacturer attaches great importance to the fact that the beech wood comes from the region, if possible also from the Sauerland. Beech wood is extremely robust and gives the building blocks not only stability, but also a certain flexibility so that they can be inserted without any problems. The untreated surface of the wood still reveals the grain and, together with the rounded edges, offers a particularly pleasant feel. Of course, it's not just the material that is so pleasant to the touch, but also the incentive to pick up the wooden building blocks again and again, feel them and play with them freely.
Squaring the circle. Within reach
From simple to sophisticated, there are just as few limits to the imagination when playing with the wooden building blocks as there are to the possible combinations and designs. Tower or bridge, sheep or shepherd, robot or starfighter: as is characteristic of the functional clamp building block with tubes on the bottom and studs on the top, any block can be joined together with any other.
Just as a calculation example: A figure-of-eight brick has 2 × 4 studs. If two figure-of-eight bricks are still limited to a manageable 24 possible combinations, seven figure-of-eight bricks open up exactly 85,747,377,755 possible combinations - a number that can be grasped purely mathematically, but hardly with the help of the imagination. Squaring the circle is perhaps almost within reach here ... Speaking of reaching: The size of the individual wooden building blocks corresponds to an optimum average size that is suitable for children's hands as well as adult fingers.
