Wild bee nesting shelf

At eye level with wild bees! On the one hand a shelf for plant pots, on the other a nesting aid: that's this shelf made of oiled oak. Can you recognize the circular holes in the wood? These drill holes have different diameters and can therefore provide a safe nesting place for over 40 species of wild bees and other cavity-colonizing insects. These include mason bees, scissor bees, holed bees, masked bees, mortar bees, leafcutter bees, cricket hunters, fruit flies, parasitic wasps ... The industrious wild bees in particular are urgently needed as pollinators - whether on your balcony or on the plantings in the surrounding area. Perhaps there is a planted courtyard or backyard garden with raised beds in which vegetable plants grow very close to your home.
