Wiener Seife
General Information
Especially for the hair. Burdock root oil is soothing for irritated scalp, proven for dandruff and gives the hair natural shine. The creamy foam smells pleasantly herbaceous and spicy and can be easily distributed in the hair.
Vienna soap variety for skin and hair. For every purpose the right
The Wiener Seifen are designed for cleaning skin and hair, this they do gently and thoroughly. For different skin types with individual needs, supporting ingredients are added to the Wiener Seifen such as healing clay, hops and salt, burdock root oil or frankincense. A real jack-of-all-trades at Wiener Seifen is the salt soap - it can even be used for brushing teeth. A note on switching from regular shampoos to washing your hair with soap: hair often needs a week or two to get used to the new care - rinses with vinegar or lemon water help with the transition. We recommend them after each hair wash with the Wiener Seifen.
For latherers. Cold-stirred soaps made from coconut oil
The Wiener Seifenmanufaktur manufactures soaps on a purely vegetable basis using a cold-stirring process. Although the term suggests otherwise, cold stirring does not do entirely without heat. However, it is not supplied from outside, but is generated naturally during the saponification process with lye and oil - in the case of Wiener Seifen, the well-foaming and particularly compatible coconut oil is used. This gentle but labor-intensive process means that up to 15% of the vegetable oils remain unsaponified and can develop their nourishing effect on the skin and hair. The moisturizing glycerine is also retained during cold stirring. The soaps are enriched with natural oils and plantnextracts, most of which come from controlled organic cultivation.
A clean performance. The Wiener Seifenmanufactory
The "Stadlauer cold-stirred coconut oil soaps" from soap maker Friedrich Weiss were once the last handmade soaps in Vienna. And they were popular beyond the city limits. Although Weiss died unexpectedly in 2006, his idealistic legacy lived on. Sonja Baldauf, who had originally planned to sell the Wiener Seifen in Switzerland, did everything she could to keep Weiss's ideas, standards and recipes alive under the name "Wiener Seife". Today, the Wiener Seifenmanufaktur is once again a pure family business, as Baldauf's partner is now solely responsible for production - after completing his late training as a soap maker. Some soap varieties have been taken over from Weiss, many more have been developed in-house and new ones are constantly being added.
