In one piece. The alternative to the mulch layer
It not only offers all the advantages of a mulch layer, but is also much easier to handle than grass, straw or chaff: this weed protection mat is simply laid in one piece on the soil in the bed or raised bed and thus prevents the unwanted growth. The mechanical protection works without gaps, as the fleece is not worn away by the wind or even runs the risk of being scooped away by birds. To plant the covered (raised) bed, the mat is slit crosswise, the young plants can then be inserted through the openings thus created.

This sheep’s wool weed mat has all the advantages of a layer of mulch but is much easier to use than grass, straw or chaff. The mat is simply placed on the ground in a bed or raised bed, where it will prevent the growth of unwanted vegetation. The mechanical protection the fleece provides is perfect, because birds cannot scrape it off nor will it will fly away in the wind. In order to plant the bed, the mat is simply slit crosswise.
