General Information
Handmade, Japanese copper watering can with long, narrow and curved spout for precise watering of potted plants. The flow rate and water quantity can also be precisely dosed thanks to the shape of the jug. The shape of the watering can is the result of many years of experience and passion for the product: the watering cans are made by hand in a small craft workshop in Sumida, Tokyo. Until the 1960s, the family business specialized in metalwork for the roofs of shrines and temples before switching to handmade watering cans for bonsai lovers. For the high-quality jugs, the copper parts are first formed and then joined with solder melted over hot coals: a precise, handcrafted process that remains visible and shapes the aesthetics of the jug. Good to know: The copper develops a natural patina over time. If desired, this process can be slowed down by regularly wiping the jug dry after use.
