Gudrun and Heinz Fesl, the latter not only a photographer but also a whisky collector, have once again put together a panoramic calendar for 2025. Printed on matt white 250 g paper, the calendar spans a thematic arc between whisky distilleries, natural beauty and other special features of Scotland. Atmospheric shots of the Highlands are juxtaposed with images of lighthouses such as Eshaness Lighthouse. Well-known distilleries are also featured, with the focus on the islands: Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Port Ellen on Islay, Scapa on the Orkneys and the Harris Distillery on the Hebridean island of the same name. The latter also produces the world-famous, hand-woven Harris tweed, to which the Fesls have also dedicated an entire calendar page. Last but not least, an abandoned train on the Caledonian Railway, the modern sculpture "The Kelpies" (water spirits in the shape of horses) and the Drovers Inn, which is more than 300 years old, shed light on further aspects of Scotland's technical and cultural history. On each monthly double page, a large panoramic image (17 × 45 cm) is accompanied by two to three smaller images. The Fesls do not use effect filters or digital post-processing in their photography. The very elaborate, two-sided offset printing achieves the highest brilliance of the images without making them appear oversaturated.
