Two-ply picnic blanket

We are fulfilling two wishes with this blanket. Firstly, with this model we have a picnic blanket made purely from natural materials: the upper side is made of fine new wool, the underside is not made of plastic as is usual with picnic blankets, but of waxed cotton. This makes it moisture and dirt repellent to a certain extent - ideal for outdoor use. The manufacturer also supplies the picnic blanket with a leather harness, in which the compact rolled-up blanket can be carried like a bag or over the shoulder. This keeps your hands free for the really important picnic accessories. If required, the carrying strap can of course also be used for other blankets thanks to the flexibly adjustable straps. Or you can roll up a second thin blanket.

The picnic blanket is made in the Gebrüder Mehler cloth factory in Tirschenreuth. Founded in 1644, the textile manufactory still carries out all processing stages under one roof, from spinning and weaving to dyeing, finishing and making up. For the outer fabric, it processes fine new wool into a light but dense fabric. The cotton is also woven very tightly and the cloth is then impregnated with wax so that water droplets roll off and it can be wiped clean if necessary. Strong, vegetable-tanned cowhide leather is used for the shoulder strap, partly in double layers - making it ideal for heavier blankets. The open edges are finely sanded, waxed and dyed and finished with stabilizing topstitching. The shoulder strap is adjustable in length and can also be removed completely.

Staining of light-coloured clothing, furniture and other objects is possible.
