Trigger wood

Trigger points are often noticeable as small round indurations in the muscles. Larger or longer-lasting ones feel almost like small knots or harder cords, which are often sensitive to pressure and can even be extremely painful. The cause is usually cramping or prolonged muscular tension - which in turn is caused by incorrect posture and overloading. And now the vicious circle begins: muscular tension can lead to reduced blood flow and therefore a poorer metabolism (the cramped muscles need a good supply in order to be able to "let go" again). This promotes pain, which in turn leads to tension ... One approach to breaking this spiral is to treat the trigger points. You can do this yourself, as the painful points are easy to feel and can be easily treated with the appropriate tools.

Our trigger wood is designed precisely for this purpose. Turned from solid beech wood from local forestry and very finely sanded, it is skin-friendly and feels pleasantly warm even on bare skin. Thanks to its compact shape and silicone coating on the base, it is easy to handle: This means the trigger wood can also be used on door frames without slipping away. With its round tip, you can gently but effectively target trigger points. To do this, place the trigger stick on the trigger point and increase the pressure for the first 30 to 60 seconds. Hold it until the pain subsides significantly (you may not believe it at first, but the pain really does subside) or, ideally, until it can no longer be felt at all. This can take up to five minutes - so a little perseverance is required. The intensity of the pressure is regulated by your body weight, depending on whether you are lying, sitting or standing, but you are usually (fortunately!) in control of how strong the pressure can be. You can support the release of these painful points with stretching exercises and massages. This makes the tissue soft and elastic again and the blood circulation can normalize. This has a positive effect on the metabolism so that the tension and therefore the pain can be reduced.
