Tree protectors Texon

When placed on the ground around the trunk of freshly planted trees, these discs protect the young plants from competition from grass and weeds and improve the soil climate in the root area. The Texon material, a cellulose fleece impregnated with latex and also known as leather paper, has two advantages: It is so durable that it will do its job for 2 to 3 years, and it consists of 90% pure cellulose, so it decomposes by itself over time - free of harmful substances. These panels are otherwise only available from specialist forestry dealers, where they are used in reforestation measures.

In conservation areas, the thin, cut disc is placed around the trunks to keep the young growth from competing with grasses and ferns. In the garden, it can serve the same purpose under perennials, shrubs and vegetable plants if the planting and row spacing is around 15 cm. In addition to suppressing weeds, the disk has another beneficial effect: it protects the soil from drying out and cooling. It costs little, lasts for many years and decomposes by itself over time.
