In Italian households, it is a natural part of the inventory. With the tomato press, the fresh, ripe fruit - ideally from your own harvest - can be processed in large quantities into aromatic puree as the basis for passata, sugo and other tomato products. This is the smallest hand-operated model in the Turin-based manufacturer's range, which is now one of the largest household appliance manufacturers in Italy, and is listed as an entry-level appliance. An extra-long screw conveyor with sharpened blades operates in the solid die-cast aluminum housing. The juice and pulp are neatly separated from the stalk, peel and seeds and run into a bowl underneath for further processing. The waste is collected separately. Before filling the tomatoes into the wide plastic funnel, it is advisable to cut larger fruits into quarters. Blanched whole fruit can also be used, as in some original Italian recipes.
