    General Information

    Lucky strategies

The roots of the game of backgammon go back deep into history, possibly to Mesopotamia, the cradle of advanced civilizations. It is not known exactly how far the dice board game traveled on its journey from Mesopotamia via Persia, Egypt, ancient Greece and Rome (as Duodecim Scripta) to medieval Europe (as Wurfzabel) and finally received its current name in Britain: Backgammon, probably formed from Welsh "back" (German "klein") and "cammon" (German "Schlacht"). Backgammon is still very popular today, especially in the Mediterranean region, where Spaniards play Tablas Reales, Italians Tavola Reale, Greeks Tavli and Turks Tavla. This transnational devotion alone proves how entertaining backgammon is - not least because, in addition to a well-considered strategy, you need a lucky hand (of dice) to win a game.

However, the craft from which this small version for travel originates does not rely on luck, but is based on the experience of generations: This travel backgammon comes from the last German manufacturer still making games in marquetry. Its craftsmanship is already evident in the game case, whose frame is made of solid cherry wood with finger-galvanized corner joints and rounded corners and edges on all sides. Inside, neatly executed inlays of light maple and black-colored service tree veneer form a clear contrast to the cherry wood and create a clearly arranged playing field. The game pieces are color-coordinated with the inlays and, above all, are magnetic, so that if the journey should take a bumpy turn, they won't ruin your victory march unexpectedly by slipping.

    Warning:

Not suitable for children under 3 years. Risk of suffocation due to small parts that can be swallowed.
