Teapot Imori
General Information
From Japan: Easy to handle, classically shaped teapot in two sizes and two colors. The lid insert, as well as the stainless steel strainer for loose tea can be easily removed for cleaning purposes. The size of the strainer insert ensures very good aroma development of the tea. The spout is designed not to drip.
These products are made from the finest porcelain quality clay. A lot of handwork is required from the shaping to the glazing of the products. The entire process, including firing in the kiln, takes several days. The bisque firing or first firing at a lower temperature is used to dry the clay, then the glaze is applied by hand. The second firing at a very high temperature for about 18 hours is used to waterproof the product and glaze the glaze.
Depending on the temperature, the result is a matte glaze with a silky look and feel or a brilliant, glossy glaze with beautiful color.
Japanese designer Koji Inoue designed the products with the following three concepts in mind: "highly functional", "pleasant to touch" and "a delight to the eye".
The teapot is dishwasher and microwave safe.
