Tea towel cotton plaid

This tea towel is a real workhorse in your kitchen, classically woven from cotton in full-twist quality and plain weave: from drying dishes and pots to covering dough. With a material weight of 165 g/sqm, it has high absorbency and is robust and hard-wearing thanks to the use of strong cotton yarn (Nm 34/2) in the warp and weft. The tea towel with a lilac background provides a friendly splash of color in the kitchen, while the light grey version blends in discreetly everywhere. The fine check pattern in white is woven into both.

The good reputation of the Mühlviertel weaving trade was already established around 1600 and in many communities, half of the inhabitants earned their income from weaving or related occupations. The raw material used by the weavers was flax, which was widely cultivated in the Mühlviertel at the time. At the time, weaving products were one of Upper Austria's most important exports. Since around 1700, strict quality and control regulations have ensured compliance with high quality standards. Standards that the traditional Vieböck weaving mill still works to today.

We specify the yarn count in Nm (metric number), whereby the higher the number, the finer the yarn. A yarn count of Nm 100 means that 100 meters of yarn weigh 1 gram. An additional number is added if the yarn is twisted from several single yarns, for example Nm 100/3 for a twisted yarn made from three single yarns.
