Tagua nut bracelet, natural white

The tagua nuts obtained from the tagua palm, which is native to the rainforests of South America, have a hard, smooth surface. They can be easily processed and polished, after which they are not unlike ivory or pearls. As the nuts are harvested without harming the palm and are biodegradable, they are well suited for resource-conscious jewelry. For this bracelet, Guthmann strings natural white tagua pearls onto a light-colored cotton ribbon, with small knots in the ribbon acting as spacers between the pearls. A filigree ball clasp made from 925 silver serves as the clasp.

Making high-quality crafted jewelry affordable for as many people as possible - with this in mind, goldsmith Martin Guthmann founded his jewelry manufactory in 1906. Today, run by his great-grandson in the fourth generation, the family business still produces entirely in the jewelry and gold city of Pforzheim. In the manufactory, rolled, stamped, drawn and cast parts are assembled by hand into small series. Among other things, old jewelry forms and ornaments from the company's own history are incorporated into the design: they are cast and - using historical manufacturing techniques - transferred to our time.
