Exactly what we were looking for: the chinaware series ENSÖ. Classic lines fluidly merge in this design resulting in well-balanced shapes and perfectly reduced forms, while the chinaware is in no way less versatile and practical. The series includes a variety of plates, bowls, and cups and offers several broadly applicable and, to some extent, special options for combing the pieces. ENSÖ is both the ideal porcelain for everyday use and special occasions. Particularly remarkable about ENSÖ is the novel way the series’ design is tailored to the pieces’ stacking and combining options. Usually, you find cups fit on cups, bowls on bowls, but the pieces of the ENSÖ chinaware series fit into each other, deriving from the logic of their use. Dessert and dinner plates’ diameters correspond to the diameters of the bowls; bowls fit in soup plates; saucers cover cups, and cups fit in mugs, etc. This way, you can put the items’ stackability to good use: for serving, for keeping drinks hot or cold, for setting the table elaborately and, last but not least, for storing food.

Designed by C.F. Møller Architects, one of Scandinavia’s most prominent architectural firms, the ENSÖ series is more than a supplement to one of the Danes’ multi-year projects. The chinaware consists of sturdy hard porcelain. You may use the pieces in the oven and microwave or the refrigerator and freezer – and clean them in the dishwasher.
