Effective weed removal
In Switzerland, and there especially in professional vegetable cultivation, the pendulum hoe is widely used for effective weed removal: The double-edged, hardened steel blade cuts the weeds by pulling or pushing with each pendulum movement, without penetrating deep into the soil; the "cuttings" can be left as mulch cover.
