May the better tactics win! This ingenious combination of Halma and chess lets three players fight for the rule of castles. The playful struggle for power is similar to chess. But instead of two kings here three castle lords long for supremacy, instead of bishops knights are looking for their strategically best position on the field, and instead of pawns squires are sent into the field.
Who will develop the successful strategy to emerge as the victorious lord of the castle from the game, while all other figures are henceforth subordinate to him as vassals? For here another rule of the game comes into play: conquering the first castle is not enough. Once one castle lord has prevailed over another, the underdog becomes the vassal of the victor until the third castle also falls under the latter's rule. And since each game develops its own dynamics, the tide can still turn ...
Game dynamics on solid ground
The (game) field offers a division into ten hexagonal and nine half honeycombs (at the edge of the field), which are additionally divided by lines. The respective figures - lord of the castle, knight, squire - allow the rules of the game in each case clearly defined moves over adjacent honeycombs or along the lines.
No fear of hours of rule study: The rules open up very quickly in the heat of the game. A first trial run, and the battle for the castles can begin. As in any battle, the game dynamics develop out of attack and defense, and yet it always remains a game. And just as playful as sustainable 3Stein trains strategic thinking and visual perception at the same time.
Playing round after round, the game board and figures make all tactical moves with undaunted. The game board is made of solid birch plywood, the figures are turned from solid beech wood. Even if the strategy once a little more combative than planned and it should go back and forth energetically on the field, the figures will pull along without complaint: many entertaining game evenings long.
