Snail barrier sheep wool

In the competition for lettuce heads and the like, slugs are annoying opponents in the flower bed. If you want to stop them, you should know their weak points. One of these (surprisingly) sore points in the life of a snail is its mucus: it not only keeps the mollusc moist and protects it from harmful substances and injuries, but above all enables it to move around. On its mucus trail, the snail has to expend much less energy to move forward. If it lacks this "lubricant", it hardly moves at all so as not to waste energy unnecessarily. This sheep's wool fleece takes advantage of the animal's energy dilemma by simply making it more difficult for it to move: the slime trail seeps in too quickly on the material and therefore no longer helps the snail to move forward - the fleece thus becomes an effective mechanical snail barrier.
