The fact that this small leather bag appears quite inconspicuous at first glance is due to its visually absolutely simple, but in terms of craftsmanship all the more elaborate processing: The body is made of one piece of strong saddle leather (thickness 2.5 mm), which gets its shape by folding and tucking. One seam holds each side edge together, and only one more is needed to attach the pocket cover. This back seam also holds the strap, the position of which allows the bag to fit snugly to the body when worn across the torso. It is closed by means of a small leather tab that slides through a metal bar. This actually comes from trailer construction and otherwise holds the straps and straps of the tarps in place. In the undivided interior compartment, which also has room for a smaller tablet, a built-in side pocket - made of soft cow suede - with two slip pockets helps keep things tidy. The man behind Hack Lederware is Christoph Hack, founder and fine bag-maker, who runs his own studio in Cologne. For over 30 years, he has been making hard-wearing, functional garments and simple accessories out of natural leathers from Germany, Italy and Scandinavia and robust canvas. The vegetable-tanned, aniline-dyed leather is processed without an additional finish, irregularities are not concealed by dyes, leaving the surface open-pored and the structure clearly visible. Production takes place at the Hack workshop in Cologne or on the premises of a partner company in Poland.
