Rotating dumbbell
General Information
With rotation to strength and coordination. The rotation dumbbell.
Training with the RotoriX® is much more than a simple dumbbell workout, because the rotation dumbbell comes up with a special feature that you do not see at first glance: The weights on the (haptically extremely pleasant) wooden handle are mounted on ball bearings and are therefore movable. They can rotate around their own axis. Due to their (intentionally) asymmetrical shape, this creates an imbalance that must be compensated for when holding the weights, while at the same time maintaining the rotation of the dumbbell heads during the workout. This is extremely demanding in terms of coordination and turns conventional dumbbell training into a comprehensively functional rotation workout, because in addition to the coordinative work, stabilizing muscle work of the trunk as well as the arms and legs is also required and a higher overall body tension is promoted.
Getting the rotation dumbbell to rotate takes a bit of practice, but you'll soon get the hang of it. However, you can use the rotation dumbbell like any other dumbbell for targeted training, for example for biceps and triceps. Particularly practical: thanks to the ball-bearing weights, the RotoriX® can also be used like an abdominal trainer (ab roller) and thus train the abdominal muscles.
Fascia training, mobilizing and stretching.
Finally, after the workout is complete, the rotating dumbbell can be used as a fascia roller. For moderate intensity, hold the RotoriX® by the dumbbell heads and roll the handle over your thighs, calves and neck, letting you determine the pressure. For an intensive fascia workout, place the rotating dumbbell in the included holder and work the fascia by rolling the respective areas of the body (legs, soles of the feet and arms) over the handle. Final stretching or mobilizing exercises also facilitate the RotoriX®. A poster with exercises is included with each rotation dumbbell, so you can start rotation training immediately.
Functional training. Complex and intense.
In sports, we distinguish five areas that can be trained specifically: Strength, endurance and speed, as well as agility and coordination. In the practice of various sports and in everyday life, however - when the muscles and joints are working in their function - all areas are relevant for an economical movement process. Functional training therefore also takes all these components into account. It involves complex movements and addresses multiple muscle groups and joints, so it is a whole-body workout. With sports equipment such as the rotation dumbbell, such a functional workout can be intensified even further, as coordination is particularly promoted by the weights of the dumbbell that have to be kept in rotation. This increases the stress in general and thus the training effect.
