Rosettes iron

A family run smithy, going back three generations and 100 years, produces these ironmongery items. The firm has been specialised for more than 20 years in the handmade production of iron door and window fittings while keeping an eye on contemporary assembly processes. For instance, the blanks used as a basis for the fittings are precision produced in series with the aid of computer guided lathes and laser cutting technology. Then the actual forging is done by hand, exactly as it has been for the last 100 years. Only then, with hammer forging, are the individual pieces completed in the skilled hands of a trained blacksmith. Both colour and surface texture are determined to a significant extent by the forging temperature. After cooling the door handles are painted using a special process which protects them against corrosion, sufficient for all indoor use. For use outside, the door fittings only maintain their finish with continuous treatment.

Unless otherwise indicated you must select all covers separately for the door handles and knobs: either the backplates for room doors with a gap of 72 mm from the keyhole to the centre of the grip hole (standard in Germany) or a set of round roses for handle and keyhole. (You can mount those at a relative spacing of your choice.) We offer backplates for traditional warded locks (suitable for standard room keys and their lock) and locks with profile cylinder. The square spindle of the door handle measures 8 by 8 mm and 7 x 7 mm for the window handles. Those are the average sizes for contemporary indoor doors and windows. Unless otherwise indicated delivery is without screws.
