Why is goat hair particularly good for cleaning phonograph records? The fine, extremely soft bristles will not damage the vinyl surface of the disk, but due to their structure and natural oils, they are very effective in trapping and removing dust from the record grooves rather than merely redistributing it. Thus goat hair is the fill material of choice for this record-cleaning brush, which has been developed in cooperation with a brush-maker master craftsman and handmade in the traditional way: soft hairs are knotted and inserted meticulously into a stock of oiled pear wood that is set in a handle of brushed aluminium. The width of the cleaning brush spans the grooved surface from the centre to the edge of the record.
Note:
The brush can be washed as needed with a mild, all-natural soft soap in lukewarm water, then rinsed and air-dried.
