Print Riso Grafik

A graphic print in bright colors, designed and produced using the riso process by Herr & Frau Rio. Printed on 170 g Munken paper, the prints offer a premium feel and excellent color quality. Laura Sirch and Sascha Wellm, the duo behind Herr & Frau Rio, discovered risography during their communication design studies at Munich University of Applied Sciences. This process, originally developed by the Japanese company Riso in the 1980s, uses rice bran oil-based inks and works without heat transfer, which reduces energy consumption. The prints are available unframed.

Risography is one of the most environmentally friendly and energy-saving printing processes available. Similar to the screen printing process, master foils are produced from hemp fibers, which are then mounted on a drum and penetrated by the rice bran-based ink. Each card is unique: varying ink application and a slight offset are just as much a part of the printed image as the possible slight color abrasion.
