We don't celebrate Christmas in the same way everywhere in the world. Every child in Eastern Europe knows Father Frost, in Australia Santa surfs the waves in midsummer heat and in the Venezuelan capital Caracas, the sporty ones go to Christmas mass on roller skates. But we all know the Star of Bethlehem as one of the central symbols of Christmas. This is also the case in Finland, the land of 1,000 lakes and vast forests, where these stars are made from birch plywood of regional origin.

To be more precise: they are prefabricated, because you can do the finishing touches yourself - in an entertaining craft session, perfect for a winter evening by the light of the Advent candles. Bring your children along to the crafting session, because assembling the stars is child's play: the individual elements of a star are simply pressed out of the pre-cut template and stuck together. Each element is cut very precisely, each groove is milled so cleanly that the assembly is smooth - and the fitted parts fit tightly. As delicate and filigree as the stars look, they are just as stable, and you don't even need glue to assemble them.

Secured in their template, the stars fit into flat, plastic-free packaging. This saves on packaging material, which, in addition to the natural material wood, is another plus point that makes these stars stand out. They stand out in your Christmas decorations thanks to their subtle design, which, despite its purism, creates a fascinating interplay of depth, light and shadow and blends into any of your festive arrangements with decorative ease. And when the Christmas season is over, you can just as easily take the stars apart again and store them away to save space - until the next Advent full of stars.
