Pocket fruit and bread knife

This knife is no typical pocket knife, but a folding knife with a serrated blade. As in a bread knife, the rounded blade head indicates its primary function: It quickly and cleanly cuts bread rolls (and any food for the road, especially fruit). At the manufacturer in Solingen, you find this model listed in the pattern books since 1932. At about the same time, they started using stainless for their blades. They say that the prototype was a knife that one of the forge’s employees made on the side for cutting snacks during his break. The cutlers developed the first stamping dies for larger production quantities on this tried-and-tested model. Over the years, new punching tools replaced the old ones. However, the production process has hardly changed and still involves a lot of manual work.
