Planter Vase d'Anduze
General Information
Typical Provençal
The famous planters from the Cévennes town of Anduze were once often used to decorate chateau gardens and manor houses, and for this purpose were usually planted with orange or lemon trees. As a symbol of a centuries-old pottery tradition, such vessels still characterize the townscape of the Cévennes town of Anduze. According to legend, their shape goes back to the Florentine Medici vases. However, French potters soon moved away from the lavish garland decoration of the models and instead designed a much more restrained decoration, as can be seen on this planter. Provençal vessels not only decorate your terrace or conservatory, they certainly cut a good figure in the house.
Hint:
This product is an example of genuine handicraft; therefore, minor deviations in size and colour may occur.
Note:
Make sure to place your planter in the cold season protected (in the best case indoors) to preserve the glaze and avoid chipping by frost action as much as possible.
