Pillar candles

Hand-poured from palm kernel wax from a certified plantation, these pillar candles do their job with endurance: they burn cleanly, odorlessly and with a steady flame for many hours and provide atmospheric candlelight - for a cozy evening or a festive occasion, on the sand bed in the decorative bowl, as a shining eye-catcher of the table decoration or as part of the Advent-decorated interior.

Respectful treatment of the environment, adherence to social fairness and appreciation of artisanal production methods: since its foundation in 2013, the projects of the Dutch label Originalhome have been characterized by respect. The company produces three quarters of its collection of furniture and home accessories from waste - more precisely, from material that would otherwise be classified as "waste" and remain unused. Working with factories in Bangladesh, Tanzania and Indonesia on a fair trade basis, Originalhome places emphasis on supporting women in the workforce, enabling them to contribute to their families' livelihoods and strengthen their own position in society. Originalhome's candles, for example, are produced in a candle factory in the Indonesian province of Jawa Timur (East Java). The women who hand-pour the candles here are carefully trained and receive a fair wage and free health insurance - for the people of this region, these conditions mean a dignified way out of poverty. The palm kernel wax from which the candles are poured comes from a certified plantation in Sumatra (Indonesia). Last but not least, Originalhome uses the profits from candle sales to plant trees in Africa in cooperation with the non-profit organization Trees for the Future, which is recognized as a "World Restoration Flagship" as part of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration.
