Floris Schoonderbeek and Dick van Hoff founded the label WELTEVREE® in 2007 in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The two designers transfer original and, at the same time, wonderfully simple ideas into excellent craftsmanship. They cooperate closely with experienced producers and suppliers and have authentic products created in their workshops that show one thing outright: Their design derives directly from life – not from an image on a computer screen. The functionality of WELTEVREE®’s products is evident at first sight. One doesn’t need to be a design expert to imagine how nice it is to cook outdoors, relax in a wood-heated bath anywhere or roll a bench effortlessly from one place to another. WELTEVREE® is modern and innovative, yet at the same time ironic and totally unimpressed by current design trends. The label combines unorthodox design solutions with traditional craftsmanship and solid materials. The manufacturers understand functionality and quality as the basis for feeling comfortable, after all. Besides, the old Dutch word “weltevree”, indeed, means “very satisfied”.

AISI 304 stainless steel is the most commonly used material for stainless steels. This stainless steel, also known as 18/8 stainless steel due to its 18% chromium and 8% nickel content, is characterized by excellent workability, weldability and corrosion resistance. It also offers good heat resistance, strength and mechanical properties at low temperatures. Supplied in annealed or cold-worked condition, it is versatile thanks to its good hot workability, including stamping and bending, and the property of not hardening by heat treatment. Typical applications include industrial use, furniture decoration and the food and medical industries.
