Object Hot Heart
General Information
HOT HEART is a decorative object made of highly polished stainless steel. It is produced in the same way as the iconic PLOPP stool: using the spectacular FIDU (Free Internal Pressure Deformation) technique, developed by architect Oskar Zieta as part of his work at the ETH in Zurich. Two wafer-thin steel plates welded at the edges are inflated with air pressure. Each shape thus formed is unique and differs slightly from the next piece produced.
The highlight of HOT HEART is that the basic shape comes flat, i.e. two-dimensional, in a small box. By heating it to 200 degrees, this basic shape is deformed into the third dimension - in other words, it acquires volume. It takes no more than a household oven to do this. HOT HEART can be used as a hanger for the coat rack in the hallway or for towels in the bathroom. The appropriate fittings are supplied.
