Nohrd Balance Board Hydropower

As large, stable and inviting as the wooden surface of the Nohrd Balance Board may seem - standing on this piece of sports equipment is a double challenge. It provides the unstable, unstable surface typical of balance gyroscopes, which challenges and promotes balance and coordination. At the same time, the balancing movements through the deep muscles are reactive, i.e. almost unconscious. The body is trained to implement the constantly new stimuli and impulses.

But unlike conventional sports gyroscopes, the balance board leads a life of its own and (re)acts itself due to the water contained in the body, which in a sense - thanks to the physical inertia inherent in all elements - works against the athlete, as it generates its own impulses. With each balancing movement seemingly involuntarily also change the center of gravity and direction of movement of the water, to which the body must additionally react.

Like all sports equipment of the Lower Saxony manufacturer Nohrd, the balance board also moves functionally and visually at the highest level. The multiplex boards are veneered with real wood, which comes from regional cultivation. The spinning top is made of highly resilient and durable, yet lightweight polycarbonate. It is filled with water in variable amounts through an opening in the base plate, which is best accomplished with a hose or funnel. When the board is up, a marker indicates the optimum fill level (equivalent to 6.5 liters of water) for maximum out-of-balance effect.
