Multipurpose furniture molded plywood

The basic structure of this multipurpose furniture made of molded plywood is composed of two parts of different sizes. When put together, the construct can be used as a side or coffee table, small shelf, seating or television furniture; when taken apart, the smaller of the two elements can be used as a bed or laptop tray, for example. Both together function as a table and bench for children. Thanks to cut-out inserts, the individual parts are easily transportable and can thus be spontaneously repurposed. The furniture was designed by the British designer John Green in York - given that Isokon (now Isokon plus), one of the most renowned molded plywood furniture pioneers, is based on the island, the origin of this simple and at the same time beautiful design seems hardly surprising.Green heeds all the rules that must be followed when building affordable plywood furniture: -few individual parts, -as little complex forming as possible - that is, none at all or two-dimensional, -as few joints as possible, and -few complex joining techniques. The application of these premises manifests itself in Green's multipurpose furniture, which bears the evocative name "embrace", as follows: It consists of two plywood parts, each deformed in two dimensions, with two incisions on the sides that allow the two elements to be plugged together.
