Morgan's Styling Pomade

Pomade has the advantage over other products that it does not dry out the hair. It gives it flexible hold, but allows reshaping throughout the day. Particularly suitable for comb hairstyles such as the classic side parting, it provides an initially subtle shine when used sparingly, but can be increased if desired by adjusting the amount, especially with the firm hold pomade. Unlike historical equivalents, this pomade from Morgan's is water-soluble and washes out easily. In addition to its classic, Morgan's offers three variants for different styling, which give medium hold, extra strong hold or but firm hold and neat shine.

The silent movie star Rudolph Valentino made it famous: the pomade. His shiny, slicked-back hair with a razor-straight side parting became his trademark and influenced subsequent generations of gentlemen intent on a well-groomed appearance. Without unnecessarily "styling" its influence, it can be considered the predecessor of all styling products commonly used today. While pomade lost importance in Germany after the 1950s, in the English-speaking world it still stands on an equal footing with hair gel and hair spray on drugstore shelves. It is therefore not surprising that many pomades and other hair care articles for men come from English barbershops and barber stores, including these from the traditional manufacturer Morgan's. As a one-man business, Robert Martin first began manufacturing shampoo in 1873. Only two years after the foundation followed the famous Morgan’s Pomade, which quickly found favor in the barbershops in London's West End and whose good reputation rushed from there far beyond the borders of England.
