Mini flat man tin
General Information
Pocket flask en miniature
In 1920s America, the "hip flask" was considered the first accessory of hipsters. In the days of Prohibition, these were the people who dared to carry the forbidden substance in small, inconspicuous containers made of metal or glass, hidden under their clothing (loosely at the hip) or in their boots.
However, we can't say for sure whether the models of our mini-flask were ever used for so-called bootlegging. As always, the small bottle comes from Sheffield, where it has been made of a tin alloy since Victorian times. In this respect, the assumption is closer that its origin lies in the supply of the English landed gentry with pocket flasks. Those who went clay pigeon shooting or duck hunting might have insisted on a warming sip or two, which could be discreetly taken from the vest pocket. Enter our mini hip flask: with a volume of just 45 milliliters, it's actually the smallest in our line of British hip flasks, fits in any (inside) pocket, and is thus always at hand when it's time to toast a special moment.
