Microplane grater very coarse

Potatoes are highly versatile vegetables. They taste good boiled and roasted – or grated in the form of hash browns or fritters or dumplings. The basic potato dough for these recipes can be prepared in next to no time with this coarse grater. Potatoes can be grated raw or cooked.

These graters are razor-sharp. The numerous little cutting edges are not simply punched out of the metal but are accurately cut by means of photo-etching. This guarantees that blades stay ultra-sharp even after frequent use. Citrus zest, for example, is sliced rather than grated or rubbed, so that it retains its flavour, aroma and vitamins. Chocolate can be grated into fine flakes – as can hard cheese, potatoes and vegetables – without losing its structure.
The graters are made by Microplane in the US (the individual parts, however, are assembled in China). All metal parts are stainless steel; the finely crafted handles are made of walnut wood from Kentucky.
