Mariposa Icelandic sheep bat chair

General Information
Keep your posture casual. Exceptionally comfortable
It could hardly get any cozier: The seat of this bat chair, which curves in all directions, appears to be stretched out in space. You'll sit extremely comfortably in it and yet you won't lose your posture - not even when you sink back into the comfort of the Icelandic sheepskin.
Naturally cuddly. The Icelandic sheepskin
Icelandic sheep are extremely robust fellows who are perfectly at home even in the harsh Icelandic climate. They owe their "coolness" in the face of weather conditions above all to their unusually dense, long wool, which protects them from the cold and rain as well as the heat. Thanks to these natural air-conditioning properties of the Icelandic sheepskin, it is ideal for providing you with warming comfort in winter and a cozy comfort zone even in summer. For the Mariposa armchair, an environmentally and human-friendly vegetable-tanned Icelandic sheepskin is used, the wool of which has been shorn shorter. The shearing makes the unbleached and undyed fur even more supple and easier to care for: you can easily vacuum it thoroughly for occasional cleaning (please set the vacuum cleaner to a low setting).
Filigree substructure. The frame
The Icelandic sheepskin is suspended in a frame made of powder-coated round steel rods (made in Sweden), which is supplied in individual parts and can be easily assembled into a whole using the enclosed die-cast aluminum connectors. In addition to the assembly instructions, each delivery contains fastening screws and a corresponding tool.
The butterfly. With all legs on the ground
In our opinion, this armchair, whose predecessor became famous as the "Butterfly Chair" (or bat chair) in the 1950s, is still one of the most successful pieces of seating furniture of its kind. The original was a simple armchair with a branched frame designed in the 1930s by Argentinian architects Antoni Bonet i Castellana, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy. The shape of our model is very similar to this original type and bears the name "Mariposa" - butterfly.
