Manufactum rose wreath column

Without the umbrella-shaped attachment, the rose umbrella turns into a free-standing vine column for climbing roses and other -plants.

The frame we show stands under its own weight and offers an umbrella-shaped ‘screen’ for climbing and rambler roses to cover with their cascades of blossoms. It’s actually made up of two separate sections: the bottom one, a column measuring 2.6 of the total height of the frame of 2.9 metres, is there to assist and to show off the blossoms of the roses, clematis and other climbers that curl around it. The top is the ‘umbrella’ section, which can be simply rested on the column. The shape is based on an idea of Claude Monet’s, who had similar structures put up in his garden in Giverny to show off his beloved roses. To erect, simply put the ‘umbrella’ by hand on to the column, and press this into the ground – 30 cm deep will do nicely, though if the earth is loose you may have to secure it with a prop. The 1-cm Ø thick steel is unprocessed and will take on a nice red-brown patina in time. The galvanized steel sections are of course rust-free.
