    General Information

    Spring colors all year round

Grace and purity, dignity and strength, the symbolism of the magnolia makes use of the highest virtues - no wonder given its natural beauty and radiance. Far beyond the time of year when the shrub and tree are in full bloom in nature, the magnolia branch, hand-felted from pure new wool, brings subtle springtime colors into your home. Standing around 60 centimetres tall, it is just as decorative as a single branch in a vase as it is in a group with other branches and fresh cut flowers. In addition, your imagination is free to play with the ever-changing use of the magnolia branch, whether you want to decorate a breakfast table or festive table, adorn a gift or decorate your front door with a floral welcome.

Tip: Make sure there is sufficient distance from the flower water if you want to combine the felt branch with a bouquet of fresh branches and cut flowers. To do this, loop its felt-wrapped wire stem at the appropriate height around one of the natural branches.

A Fair Collaboration. Gry & Sif

During her backpacking tour through Nepal, the Dane Gry Staunstrup got to know the astonishing openness and warmth of the country’s inhabitants, and their craftsmanship bedazzled her. She was able to observe in detail how adeptly and skilfully Nepalese women felted wool into a wide variety of objects. Staunstrup felt it was time to make something good out of the untapped potential, and an idea was born: to combine Nepalese handicrafts with Danish design. And the idea was immediately followed by action.

The company Gry & Sif started producing a variety of products made of wool felt in Nepal in 2000. The designs created by Gry Staunstrup are as remarkable as they are understated and, characteristic of Danish design, at the same time fresh and merry. Nepalese women turn them into products employing traditional handicrafts. Fair Trade certified by now, Gry & Sif stands for fair wages and working conditions, environmentally conscious production and transparency. The company exclusively sources pure new wool from New Zealand sheep for the felting; each of the resulting products is handmade and unique.
