Ladies leather sandal

The soft leather of this sandal is made of Wernebi Nappa tanned especially for Werner. The lining and insole are also made of vegetable-tanned cowhide, which is comfortable for the foot climate. The width of the heel strap can be changed via a metal buckle, which, in conjunction with the three straps running across the forefoot, ensures that the sandal sits well and securely on the foot. The finely ribbed outsole is made of thermoplastic rubber, and a circumferential wide rubber rim protects the shoe and foot when worn.

Two aspects characterise Werner shoes: natural leathers – if in any way possible chrome-free and vegetable tanned – and a comfortable feel thanks to tried and tested fittings. The family business founded in 1911 is, after all, still in line with its traditional claim to produce beautiful and good shoes. What once began with sturdy work and hiking boots developed into a range comprising chic après-ski boots in the 1970s and 80s and progressed up to the current collection of (casual) shoes for men and women, some sporty, some rather elegant. Werner also actively follows new developments in the leather market. For instance, some shoes feature a lining made of olive leather®. In the tannery, they use olive leaves (residues that accumulate during the annual pruning of the trees), the resulting leather is very skin-friendly. For many years, Werner shoes were made at the company’s founding place in Pirmasens. Today the “quilters” and “nippers” work in south-eastern Europe. The raw materials come from Germany and the neighbouring European countries –in unvaryingly guaranteed high quality –, keeping transport distances as short as possible.
