Ladies jumpsuit

The name of this item of clothing - made up of "jump" and "suit" - takes us straight to the origins of its history. The jumpsuit was developed in the early 20th century as functional clothing for parachutists. It made the leap into the fashion world in the 1930s with Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli. The one-piece experienced its heyday in the 1970s and became a symbol of the feminist movement. In the 1980s, it was one of the hottest disco outfits. Today, the iconic garment has found its place in everyday and festive wardrobes.

Lanius produces this jumpsuit in a loose fit with dropped shoulders. This ensures a casual, comfortable fit that gently hugs the figure. The fabric is largely made of lyocell (TENCEL™), a biodegradable regenerated fiber made from wood from controlled sources. Thanks to this skin-friendly and breathable fiber, the fabric is pleasantly smooth and supple against the skin and has a soft, flowing drape. The linen content further enhances the breathable properties and gives the fabric a distinctive, visible twill. The jumpsuit has a V-neckline, two side pockets and a concealed zipper at the back. The drawstring tie allows the width to be adjusted at the waist.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
