What is unusual about these jeans is not only that the denim is undyed. They are also made from certified organic cotton and recycled elastane. The legs are rather slim, while the high waistband visually elongates the silhouette. The jeans are fastened with a metal zipper and button. They have two side pockets and two back pockets.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
