Knitted blanket merino wool
General Information
Soft and warm. Knitted merino wool.
The Westerwald knitting specialist Seldom is known for its exquisite knitwear. The experience of many years both in knitting and in the handling of the valuable material can also be seen in this blanket made of fine merino wool (19.5 microns). The wool comes from animals that are kept in a species-appropriate manner in southern Patagonia, and it is spun in northern Italy in Biella, a traditional textile region. Seldom knits the yarn for the blanket in three colors (gray, rose and natural) into a jacquard tuck pattern. It is reminiscent of a pearl pattern, but one side of the blanket is knitted smooth right, so that the blanket, especially in combination with the skin-friendly, soft merino wool, is pleasant to the skin. The blanket gets its extremely soft, voluminous feel from a first wash directly after knitting.
By the way, knitted blankets offer a small advantage over woven ones: even though they have the same basis weight, knitted blankets are slightly warmer because they are more voluminous due to the intertwined yarns and can therefore trap more heat-insulating air. They often snuggle even better, especially when such fine, soft merino wool is used as in this case.
