Pure new wool fibers offer this enormous advantage: they have a rough surface and a natural content of wool grease (lanolin). New wool is therefore self-cleaning, so to speak - dirt particles find it difficult to adhere to the rough fiber surface. It is therefore often sufficient to air the garment and brush out the dried dirt.
