Kids jacket virgin wool fleece

Whether it's romping through the world or taking a breather on the picnic blanket, whether it's quietly practicing sun salutations or doing a daring somersault: In all activities your child may feel comfortable in this jacket, up to the hood it protects it from overheating as well as from cooling down.

The supple merino wool used for the children's jacket has a temperature-balancing effect - especially since the downy-soft fleece has a characteristic roughened surface. By roughening, the fine, crimped fibers of the merino wool puff out to even greater volume and can therefore trap heat-insulating air even better. This enhances the natural climate-regulating effect of virgin wool as well as its fine softness. Suitable for children, the jacket is slightly overlapped, in a straight, wide cut, so that your offspring can live out his natural urge to move unhindered. With all the room to move, the reinforced hems ensure that the shape remains true to form, while wide ribbed cuffs ensure a perfect fit. And the buttons made of solid olive wood put the icing on the cake, as it were, on the natural material.

Engel is located at the foot of the Swabian Jura and has been focusing on natural textiles in an exemplary and consistent manner for 35 years now. In addition to cotton from controlled organic cultivation (kbA), Engel processes pure merino virgin wool from controlled organic animal husbandry (kbT) as well as merino virgin wool (kbT) in combination with silk. All buttons are made from renewable raw materials. For dyeing the wool textiles, Engel uses only reactive dyes that bond particularly stably with the fiber and are characterized by high color fastness.

Two basic properties make merino wool such a valuable material for children's clothing and home textiles.
1. Their outstanding temperature-balancing effect:
Merino sheep provide a distinctly soft, fine wool, to which the animals owe their much-vaunted resilience. Not even the sometimes extreme temperature differences of their natural habitat can harm merino sheep: In cold weather, their slightly crimped wool fibers are particularly effective at storing natural body heat; in hot weather, the fibers absorb a lot of body moisture and wick it away to the environment with a cooling effect. Last but not least, merino wool is particularly skin-friendly thanks to its very fine wool fibers; even wool-sensitive people feel comfortable in it.
2. Their natural ease of care:
Children's textiles not only have to be able to withstand a lot, they also have to be easy to care for. Pure new wool fibers offer this enormous advantage: they have a rough surface and a natural content of wool fat (lanolin). This is why virgin wool is self-cleaning, as it were - dirt particles can only adhere to the rough fiber surface with difficulty. So it is often enough to air the garment and brush out the dried dirt.
