Whether for a short note, writing longer documents or signing important documents - the Supra fountain pen from Kaweco, which is unmistakably related to the much smaller Kaweco model Liliput, is particularly impressive due to its wide range of possible uses. The pen, which consists of four parts (cap, front and back sections, middle section), can be screwed together as required and is therefore variable in length. This turns the stately fountain pen for official occasions into a handy writing instrument for everyday use or even a compact companion for on the go, which even fits in a trouser pocket when closed. This variable range of lengths distinguishes the Supra on offer here from the smaller Liliput, as does its nib: the Supra's nib is significantly larger. The nib is available in five widths, which can be used for different purposes. The extra-fine version (EF) is particularly suitable for entries in calendars or tables, the double-width version (BB) for signatures. In addition to the typeface, ink consumption also depends largely on the nib width. To ensure that ink never runs out, the pen can accommodate a second (spare) cartridge when extended by the middle section. As the turned brass body is untreated, it can develop a patina depending on storage, transport and usage preferences. The body and construction are simple. The cap has an internal thread, so it either closes the fountain pen tightly or extends the writing instrument.
