Anniversary model lion anvil shears
General Information
The lion. With non-slip decoration
The idea came from us many years ago: if the tried-and-tested Löwe anvil shears from Gebr. Schröder GmbH in Kiel were given an embossed design, they would be easier to grip and even better than they already are. The 90th anniversary of the anvil shears was reason enough for the manufacturer, which can look back on over 150 years of company history, to produce its famous classic with an embossed vine pattern. In fact, nothing slips, the handles sit firmly in the hand and work is easy and comfortable.
The principle of the anvil shears
These scissors have never been so pretty, but they have always cut so well. Their principle was developed in 1923 by Gebr. Schröder GmbH and consists not only in the combination of blade and support (the anvil), but above all in the right combination of materials. While the blade must be very hard and retain its edge, it is important that the anvil can yield. This is why it is made from a softer alloy of aluminum and zinc. Anvil shears are generally more suitable for harder, woodier branches and twigs than for soft and damp ones. For this reason - and because they are technically superior to other shears for work that requires more force - they are the typical shears for pruning.

A Handy Item For the Anniversary.
We had the idea many years ago: if one would emboss the tried and tested Löwe anvil shears made by the Gebr. Schröder GmbH with a pretty imprint, that would make them even more handy and better than ever. The anvil shears have turned 90 , which for the manufacturer, who can look back on 145 years of company history, is a good occasion to issue his classic tool with a vine imprint. And with the handles firmly in the hand, the shears don't slip at all and the work is easier to do
The principle of the anvil shears.
These shears were never so pretty, but they cut well from the beginning. The principle behind them was developed in 1923 by Gebr. Schröder GmbH in Kiel. It is not just the combination of a blade and a base (the anvil), it's the right materials. The blade must be extermely hard and retain it's edge, but the anvil must have a little give. Therefore it is made of an aluminum and zinc alloy. Anvil shears are used to cut the harder, tougher branches and are suitable as a bypass pruner. Since they require less force and are technically superior to other shears, they are the shears of choice for pruning.
