Japanese pruning shears

- Powerful cutting ability: strong cutting head made of extra hard steel
- Handle-solid compactness: short oak handles
- Space-saving lever movement: optimal in dense branches
General Information
In brevity lies the trick
With its handles, which are designed slightly shorter than usual, these loppers bring a handy compactness in combination with powerful cutting ability. The cutting blade made of extra-hard steel in remarkable material thickness (max. 7 mm) effortlessly cuts through branches, brushwood and roots. The short handles are also due to the fact that the lopping shears in the open state takes up less space for itself and eliminates the need for far-reaching lever movements - even cuts in the middle of densely grown branches are thus significantly facilitated.
Cutting Tools. For a good cut: how to choose the right model
For the selection of the right garden shears is first to answer the question, what should be cut. Our scissors differ in material, size, weight and equipment, so that each has a specific area of responsibility. Basically, we distinguish between two types of scissors: In bypass shears, two blades slide past each other, leaving a clean, smooth interface; in anvil shears, on the other hand, a sharp blade meets the stationary anvil. Bypass shears are particularly suitable for precise cuts requiring little force on thinner pruning material - such as roses, shrubs or perennials - while anvil shears can be used to make powerful cuts on stronger branches; they are thus particularly suitable for pruning woody plants. In our range you will then find, for example, specialists for topiary or thinning, for a particularly hand-friendly operation or an extra strong cut for particularly thick branches.
Tools and Cultural History
The development of tools does not simply follow an abstract-functional principle, but is often linked to the entire worldview and self-image of an era or region. This is particularly evident in the tools of a completely different cultural sphere: the products of the ancient Japanese blacksmith's craft are much admired in our country, because they still live entirely from the deep historical and spiritual roots of pre-modern Japanese culture.
