With its long handle, this saw is ideal for carrying out cutting operations in trees and shrubs in all those places that could be reached with a normal hand saw only with the help of a ladder. It comes from Japan and, like all cutting tools from there, is one thing above all: extremely sharp. And, a second: extremely light.
Pull by pull.
The long blade, as is usual with Japanese saws, saws on pull and thereby "grips" firmly at the saw point in the branch that it is to cut through: This provides improved control over the sawing operation. The position of the saw blade can be infinitely adjusted by means of a knurled screw, allowing it to be adapted to the growth shape and direction of the branches at any time - while the person operating the saw keeps both feet firmly on the ground. When not in use, the blade can be folded (to protect material and people). Incidentally, this saw owes its light weight to the handle material: poplar wood is flexible and lightweight.

Saw blade made of non-alloy tool steel. The handle is made of Japanese poplar. Blade length 36.5 cm, total length 1.3 m (folded length 90 cm). Weight 350 g.
Like all tools with cutting edges from Japan, this saw is also extremely sharp. It is also very light. With its long handle it is ideal for pruning trees and bushes at heights which might only be reached with a ladder with a normal handsaw. It owes its light weight to the poplar wood handle, which is flexible as well as light.
