Japanese joint scraper

In Japan, where even tea-making has inevitably developed into a mastery, things as diverse as gardening and the forging of extraordinary edged weapons can look back on more than a thousand years of history. A reflection of this is unmistakable in this joint scraper: The slightly curved blade can be moved perfectly through the joint to be cleaned and is made of such strong stainless steel that it can even be used in the garden bed like a push hoe. The angled side is serrated and cuts through even the most stubborn, woody plants. The front side, on the other hand, has a smooth, very sharp cutting edge that can be used by pushing over larger areas - with a little care, however, as the blade is so sharp at the front that it can easily break off if it is tilted.
