Insect station granite ceramic

This insect station is a feeding station and watering trough in one. Thought and made it is to support mainly the flying (beneficial) insects in your garden. The cellulose sponge placed in the center of the bowl is soaked with homemade sugar solution and thus serves mainly butterflies as a nectar filling station. With their fine proboscis, they dive deep into the soft, permeable material and provide themselves with the sweet food. The surrounding water ring serves on the one hand as a drinking opportunity and on the other hand prevents ants from finding their way to the sugar solution. By the way, the signal blue color was not chosen by chance, since bees and bumblebees in particular, but also many other flying insects, find blue extremely attractive and can thus hardly fly away in search of a suitable resting place.

Granite ceramics, called Granicium® by the manufacturer, are characterized by the properties of the raw material. Granite contains high proportions of quartz and feldspar and is therefore very dense, robust and stable. A malleable mass is created by adding rock flour, water, effective microorganisms and lactic acid bacteria. Fired at very high temperatures in the kiln, objects made of granite ceramics are extremely durable, heat-retaining, waterproof and also frost-resistant and UV-resistant. Good to know in the garden: The material is easy to clean, does not mold and mildew.
